G’day ladies and gents, it’s an honour and a privilege to be here to make the announcement you’ve all been waiting for……….. It’s that the Tasmanian-based Small Island Motorsport will be making their return to the Mount for the 2023 edition of the ATR1000.
Yes, you heard that right – returning for their second year as teamies and their 26th year as father and son are the dynamic doughnut duo, @Haydyn Bevis 747 and @Lochie Bevis 474, driving the Number 474 Spirit of Tasmania Ferrari 296 entry.

You may have heard that two heads are better than one, well buckle up because between these two Tassie natives they’ve got four!
There’s no denying that this father-son team are a powerful force, with ATR veteran Haydyn bringing the racecraft and a cool head that only old-age can supply, as well showing massive pace gains in private track test days during the lead up to the event that may surprise some veterans of the Mountain. With a few years of league racing under his belt, Lochie, the youthful and arguably more handsome of the two, is hoping to bring a strong contribution to the team and is hard at work in the simulator at the team factory adjusting to the quirks of the Ferrari.
After what can only be described as an inspired performance by the team in the 2022 edition of the ATR1000, the Bevis boys are entering this year’s event full of belief and are hoping to replicate last year’s incident-free drive to finish P10, however the main goal is to finish the race and bring the car back to the garage in one piece.
We look forward to sharing the track with you all, and are excited for some hard, fair racing! (not as hard as Brennan, though).
Signing off,
